As families around the country gather during the holiday season, one family in Chicago is still missing a member, who has seemingly vanished without a trace. Now, new information obtained by jcoydenreports could yield clues to the whereabouts of Andrea Dean Johnson who has not been seen since September of 2021.

Following up on a previous report and this time using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), data-based public records, interviews with Dean’s family members and law enforcement sources, jcoydenreports has been able to discover new information about the possible whereabouts of the now 34 year-old actress.

Dean married fellow Chicagoan Chance L. Johnson on July 9, 2021 during a civil ceremony at the Cook County Courthouse in downtown Chicago, according to records obtained through Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough’s office. Johnson, who was 30 at the time of the marriage, has two listed addresses in Chicago on the city’s south side. One address listed at 9155 S. Paulina is a single-family home that is owned by his parents. Another home, at 1706 W. 92nd street is also under the Johnson family name. A visit to that home back in August found the residence to be vacant. A neighbor who spoke with jcoydenreports under the condition of anonymity, said the house had been vacant for at least two years, but that Chance Johnson’s father is often seen at the property cutting the grass in the summer and shoveling the snow in the winter. Looking inside the home from the sidewalk outside, one can view furniture that is covered in the front room. City records show no trash has been picked up from the home by city crews in the past 20 months and no lights are on inside the residence.

Johnson also has listed addresses in Toledo, Ohio at 1157 Prospect Avenue, in addition to addresses in the state of California. Investigators believe there is a possibility that Dean and Johnson have fled the state. Law enforcement sources say Johnson’s transient lifestyle is making it difficult for them to track him down. However earlier this year, officers with the Cook County Sherriff’s Department were able to get a positive hit on one of the vehicles owned by Johnson in the Chicago area. While it is not clear why the deputy was running a license plate check on the vehicle, Dean’s family members says Johnson often has a variety of people driving his cars for some unknown reason.

Several vehicles that belong to Johnson are registered at the address where his parents reside, according to records at the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office obtained by jcoydenreports. None of the vehicles registered to Johnson were current in their registration, meaning any parked on a public way can be ticketed by law enforcement. Back in September, two vehicles registered to Johnson, were spotted at his parent’s home in the 9100 block of Paulina. One vehicle, a Black Dodge Hellcat is parked on the property in the rear of the home, which is partially obscured by a gate at the rear of the residence. It can clearly be seen however from above or through a next door neighbor’s yard. Another vehicle belonging to Johnson, a red, Jeep Latitude 4x4, was also parked in front of his parents’ home. According to records obtained from the City of Chicago, the vehicle was reported as abandoned in September of this year. By law, the city is required to notify the vehicle’s owner that they have seven days to move the vehicle or it will be ticketed and towed. As of December 22nd, the red Jeep is no longer parked outside the home and there is no record of it ever being towed.

Jcoydenreports attempted to speak with Johnson’s parents on two separate occasions to inquire about the whereabouts of Johnson and Dean. Despite there being movement inside the home on Paulina, indicating someone was there, no one answered the door when the bell was rung either time. The home is equipped with a Ring camera at the front door. The house stands out from others on the block as all of the front windows have a dark tint over them.

According to records obtained via an FOIA request, Chicago police have visited the home on Paulina on at least two occasions in the past year seeking information about Dean. The first time a detective visited the home to inquire about Dean’s whereabouts during the early stages of the investigation. Johnson’s parents allegedly told the detective they had never seen her before, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the case. During a second visit in September 2022, officers responded to the home after receiving a tip from someone that Dean might be inside. Again when officers arrived, no one answered the door, according to the report. With no warrant or probable cause, officers were forced to leave the premises.

What Johnson actually does for a living is also in question. He has several LLC’s listed with the Secretary of State’s office, but many of them are no longer valid. Sources who know Johnson say he does some sort of work in the entertainment industry, but cannot say for sure just what. One active LLC is Chance Takers, which is listed as a record label and production company. There have been photos of Dean wearing one of the company’s shirts online and an Instagram account associated with the label has 22,000 followers. However, there has been no posts to the Instagram account in nearly a year and many of the comments associated with the account are people questioning the whereabouts of Dean.

Dean’s family believes she is being held against her will by Johnson, despite the documented marriage certificate, which they did not know existed. They are disturbed by the notion that Dean just abandoned her two children back in Chicago to live an elusive life with Johnson. Dean has at least one child with Johnson under the age of two and has possibly had another with him since her disappearance in 2021, according to family members.

It should be noted that Johnson is not suspected of any criminal behavior at this time, nor is he the subject of any legal warrant for his arrest. However, Chicago Police do consider him a person of interest and would like to speak with him about the whereabouts of his wife. Dean is still listed as missing and endangered and police say the search for her could end if she is able to walk into any police station in the country to prove she is safe.

In the meantime, Dean’s family is vowing to press on, by keeping her case in the public eye via social media websites, while also recognizing that she may have just disappeared on her own volition. Dean had a significant social media following after her appearance in several movies including “The Lies We Tell but The Secrets We Keep.” Her disappearance however is one secret many people want revealed.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Andrea Dean or Chance L. Johnson, please call the Chicago Police Department at 312-747-8380.
